LAD’s Grille & Waffle Shop resulted from the merging of LAD’s Grille, founded 1954 by Louis A. DiFabio, and Cook’s Waffle & Pancake Shop, which DiFabio leased from Giles Cook the following summer. The two businesses shared the same lot at the east end of the Strip, near Burns’ Corner.
