A Cleveland resident, Peter Bozell and his wife purchased the Burns Texas Barbecue Stand in 1955 and renovated the building for a Memorial Day weekend opening.
The business was rebranded as “Home of the Famous Real Texas Barbecue,” offering beef, pork and ribs, as well as foot-long and 7-inch hot dogs, chili and more.

By 1955 Burn’s barbecue stand was in poor condition.
