GOTL had a new attraction in 1947, hay wagon rides from the center of the strip to Bill Turney’s Diamond T Ranch on North Meyers Road.
The rides departed daily at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Once at the ranch, guests could ride horseback for an hour along bridle trails, then hope back on the hay wagon for a return trip to The Strip.
Turney had been around horses for nearly 20 years when he opened a ranch in Madison in 1944. He purchased the property on North Meyers, transformed it into a ranch and went into year-around business.
He had saddle horses for rent as well as a horse and buggy.
